Preparations for the first WASZP Games are well underway...

The Countdown is on

Entries are now open and planning for the event on Lake Garda, August 1-5 is gaining pace.

With around 100 days to go we already have competitors registered from Australia, UK, France, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and Spain. Sailors from New Zealand and Argentina are confirmed also.

This is a great opportunity for all WASZP owners to come together at a fantastic venue.

Fun!

The emphasis of the WASZP games is to provide an enjoyable environment that highlights the great joy of foiling.

Good racing will be a feature, but certainly not the only aspect. The Games is a place to meet new friends from all over the world and to share the spirit of WASZP sailing.
The vibe will be 'festival' with music, food and fun everyday.

Not just Racing - Clinics/Discussions/Video Analysis

Many WASZP sailors are still learning to foil and tell us they are not confident to race yet.

But you should still come to the Games because the best way to learn is from other sailors!

The WASZP team will be undertaking a series of tuning and set-up clinics open to everyone. There will be free sessions for questions and discussions on various WASZP topics.

In addition, there will be dedicated video analysis sessions where sailors can be filmed in action. In the evenings there will be reviews by the WASZP team where sailors can get feedback about their technique and improvement ideas.

This is all part of the entry fee.

Racing

The regatta will consist of one or more of the following formats:

Course Racing - the course will be windward/leeward or trapezoid
Slalom - the course will be short format including multiple gybe marks
Marathon - the course may include upwind and downwind legs over a long distance
GPS - best speeds achieved during racing

Race lengths will be managed to ensure everyone has fair and fun competition.

Prizes for all

Winners are grinners right?

At the WASZP Games that is true - we are offering trophies, WASZP gear and cash for the victors across a range of categories.

However, there is also a big pool of prizes available through daily random draws to all entrants - think sails, tramps and merchandise.

Support

WASZP will provide an on-site workshop to assist sailors with any issues that they can stay on the water. A full inventory of spare parts will be available.

Charter Boats

WASZP as committed to one container (15) of boats available to charter for international sailors. These will be brand new boats, supplied fully assembled and ready to race.
