WASZP Component Upgrade

Martina Orsini

An update from WASZP designer Andrew McDougall...

In July 2016 we launched the first production WASZP in Lake Garda, Italy.

Since then over 500 WASZP's have found their way to owners in 35 countries.

During the past 16 months we have recieved some excellent feedback about the boat but also experienced some breakages that required us to redesign selected components to improve reliability.

Many of these changes have been progressively implemented in production boats, and all boats from WZ 2450 are to the full upgraded specficiation.

The major changes are:

  • Upgraded wing tube sleeve specification
  • Updated Ride Height Adjustor design and ball joint socket
  • Added an adjustable push rod assembly
  • Redesigned wand control linkage and included a wand limiter
  • Change to the main foil flap extrusion to enscapsulate the barrel nut as well adding removeable tips to the horizontal

For current owners we are now sending out an upgrade kit.

The roll-out will commence mid December for sailors in the southern hemisphere and from mid January for those in the northern hemisphere.

If you own a WASZP and have not recieved an email from us about the upgrade process, please email me at andrew@kasail.com

This is a large project for the WASZP team, but we are committed to esnuring every sailor has the best experience and that the one design priniciples of the class are followed.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

Andrew McDougall
