AUSTRALIAN SUMMER PREVIEW!
AUSTRALIAN SUMMER
It has been a long winter in Australia, however we are now launching head on into the most exciting season of WASZP Sailing on record. The headline act is of course the International WASZP Games in Perth where 80 boats from 10 countries are expected.
However there are many more exciting events on this years calendar. The WA WASZP fleet are hosting their very first state championships on the 9/10/11 November, while the NSW fleet is seeing an explosion in growth with a new fleet at Avalon emerging. We are hoping to see a strong NSW fleet at the WASZP Games in Perth. In Melbourne the fleet experienced significant growth last year and is consolidating this season, with over 45 boats in the state and a solid racing circuit planned we expect to see the level of competition go through the roof. There are expectations of 30 WASZPs making the trek across the country to Perth for the WASZP Games, with shipping at $300 return from Perth it is too good not to get over there!
We also have an Enter Now – Pay Later arrangement on Entry https://www.revolutionise.com.au/rfbyc/events/20319/
In Melbourne there are several clubs with racing programs in place, Royal Brighton Yacht Club and Sorrento Sailing & Couta Boat Club are racing on both Fridays and Sundays. The Sandringham fleet kicked off their season with a 9 boat fleet at Sail Sandy. With fleets also sailing at Black Rock Yacht Club, Safety Beach Sailing Club and Indented Head Yacht Club on the surf coast it is looking like a sensational summer of sailing in Victoria.
Sail Melbourne will act as the final tune up before the WASZP Games, held in mid-December there are strong expectations of 20 boats for the this event, be aware the late entry fee applies after October 31st, so it is time to get those entries rolling in.
