WASZP have today announced that Ronstan ClearStart Watches & Timer will be the Official Timepiece of the 2019 WASZP European Championships event being held in Malcesine, Lake Garda, Italy, July 16th – 20th.

The 2019 WASZP European Championships will be an amazing spectacle of sailing and with a fleet of 100-plus expected, the high-energy competition will be fierce and entertaining. Included on the schedule to be LIVESTREAMED across the globe during event days, will be the first ever European Slalom Championship, displaying the best-on-water action from any class in the world. _“WASZP is all about providing the best all-round experience for sailors and spectators, so this added event is the perfect combination of on-water and off-water entertainment,” _Marc Ablett, WASZP’s Marketing Manager was quoted.!

Between July 17th & 20th, Championship racing will feature split fleets for the first time - an 8.2m fleet and a 6.9m fleet competing for separate prizes and 2 European Champions! The 6.9m is a real focus for the youth of the class as well as female competitors. “It is a real buzz to have so many youth and women competing in the class, the WASZP takes foiling to the masses & is inclusive to everyone. This is a project we will be working hard on for the coming years to compliment the already strong 8.2m class”

Of having Ronstan join the event, Ablett noted, “Ronstan is already a partner of ours, supplying hardware for all of our foiling dinghys, but having their ClearStart Race Timers as the Official Timepiece is something a little different and we’re rapt that they’ve decided to join in the fun!”
